Weekend Reading: The Short, Inaccessible and Late Edition

Yesterday was a very busy day, on both the work and life fronts. I had an all day meeting at work, and then had to leave a little early to go to our day care's annual ice cream social. After that, we went to Pumpkin's soccer lesson, and then we all went down to Old Town for dinner, followed by sometime listening and, in the case of me and the kids, dancing to the music in the Plaza del Pasado. We didn't get home until after bedtime. It was a lot of fun- we've been meaning to take the kids down to Old Town at night for quite awhile. But this all left no time for blogging! I haven't even found the time to respond to all of the interesting comments on my recent post about work-life balance.

Add to that the fact that it was a short week, and I spent it with a head cold... and hopefully you'll understand why I don't really have any links to share this week. (And why I've been pretty scarce on the blogs I usually frequent.)

But this morning, I was catching up on some of the Science magazines that have piled up, and I came across a news article about how blast injuries in may be linked to a neurodegenerative condition in veterans similar to what has been found in football players and other athletes that experience frequent head injuries. It is an interesting article, and disturbing. Unfortunately, it is only accessible if you have a subscription to Science. I suspect a lot of my readers do have access to Science, though, so I decided to go ahead and share it.

I hope you all have a good weekend! We have a nice one lined up, even if I do have to do a little work to catch up on the paperwork aspect of my job.

  3. Old Town WAS fun! I have started a search for the best margaritas in a kid-friendly venue in San Diego. I've only checked two of the kid-friendly restaurants in Old Town, so we'll have to go back.
